Newsletter; Pokemon of the Week!

Okay, first of all the giveaway week wasn't quite a success..... As you might have seen. I only have two giveaways when there should be 7. I missed five whole days, and I'm making up for it this week! Every weekday, I wil have a giveaway! So sorry to disappoint you guys! Thanks for subscribing! And here's the Pokemon of the Week:

DARMANITAN: The Blazing Pokemon
Okay guys, this Pokemon is completely beast. Seriously. With two very strong but different variations, Darmanitan is a sweeper in some ways. It has two different forms, and it can alternate depending on two things: Its HP and ability. If you want it to be a powerful Pokemom that is likely to crush a different team, you want the ability Sheer Force, which raises all attacks that have secondary effects by 33%, but loses the effect. This ability is actually quite useful if you know that Darmanitan's monster attack (base 140) will knockout your enemy. Normal mode Darmanitan also has a pretty high speed stat. The second ability is Zen Mode. When your Pokemon's HP is below 50%, Darmanitan will automatically switch into Zen Mode Darmanitan. Zen Mode Darmanitan is useful due to its nice defenses (base 105 and 105) and its monster base special attack. So out of these two abilities, which is more useful?

Darmanitan (Normal Mode):
Ability: Sheer Force
Held Item: Life Orb
Moveset:
-Earthquake
-Flare Blitz
-Stone Edge
-Superpower
EV: All out attack and speed
Nature: Up attack, down special attack
Okay here is why you could use this to your advantage. For some strange reason, if you have the ability Sheer Force and you're holding the Life Orb, any move that has recoil will lose its Life Orb recoil. Strange huh? So your Flare Blitz has an increased power for the same recoil. Earthquake needs no explanation having a super high attack power, Stone Edge is one of those risky attacks that have a 80% of hiting but can cause some serious damage, and Superpower is there to finish your opponent off with a hubalooza of strength. If you raise your attack power and speed, this moveset is one of those, "HIT UNTIL YOU DIE" movesets.

Zen Mode Darmanitan
Ability: Zen Mode
Held Item: Wise Glasses
EV: HP, Special Attack
Nature: Up special attack, down attack
Moveset:
-Flamethrower
-Substitute
-Psychic
-Focus Blast
Alright. For this Darmanitan, you want a high HP, and a super high special attack power. That's why you EV train in those two stats, have that nature, and hold Wiseglasses. Why you want HP is simple, beacause you are going to use Substitute to lower your HP down to 50%. Flamethrower is your STAB along with Psychic. You have high defenses so you should take a few tough attacks. Focus Blast is for knocking out those scary dark types. You won't be using any physical attacking moves in this set.
Thanks for subscribing everyone!

http://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=group_215241655160557#!/home.php?sk=group_215241655160557&ap=1

Second of all, this week is awesome because throughout the whole week, I will be updating this blog with many new Pokemon Giveaways, for the whole week. That means a lot of Pokemon will be up for grabs! And I can tell you one thing, you will love some of the Pokemon I am giving away!

Lastly, the Global Trade Link is now open! It was actually open quite a while ago, but I never really had the time to write about it. What it basically is, is an online version of Pokemon. You simply need a Pokemon Online account, and then you can send your actual Pokemon from your Pokemon Black and White games into your computer so you can do things with it online! You can get berries, items, and some of the Pokemon you catch there have abilities that can only be required in the Dream World. Here is the link:

New Pokemon of the Week: Metagross

Metagross: the Iron LEG Pokemon

Metagross is an extremely useful Pokemon in many occasions and many ways. Its super high base defense and base attack (130 and 135) are perfect for a tanking Pokemon. The only problem is that Metagross's speed is quite high for a heavy tanking Pokemon, so it does not exactly qualify by my standards. But still, that doesn't really matter. There are actually two really useful combinations of Metagross. So here's Metagross, our second Pokemon of the week.

Ev: Attack, HP, 4 speed
Nature: Up attack, down special attack (Adamant)
Held item: Choice Band/Leftovers
Moves:
-Pursuit
-Meteor Mash
-Earthquake
-Ice Punch
Metagross won't be needing any special attack in this moveset, so you might as well give up its special attack for its attack. So considering Metagross is holding a Choice Band, your opponent is actually likely to run away from its mega high power (with a choice band), and in that case, pursuit is likely to KO anyone who dares to switch out. Earthquake and Metoer Mash need no explaining. Ice Punch allows good coverage over Dragon type teams and flying teams, which is very useful for Dragon users. Leftovers help if you want Metagross to tank the entire team out, as it regains its HP. Thats why you need to raise your HP for long enduring battles.

EV: Attack, Hp and speed split
Nature: Adamant
Item: Leftovers
Moveset:
-Explosion
-Earthquake
-Meteor Mash
-Agility

Attack will raise, special attack will lower. Your speed will raise and agility will help lift it in a team sweep situation. When your HP is low, Explosion is a last resort and because your speed is high, Explosion is a surefire damaging last resort suicide. Meteor Mash and Earthquake need no explanation.

Pokemon of the Week

Cloyster: the Bivalve Pokemon
Oh yess.... The first Pokemon of the Week at Pokemon Suckers is..... CLOYSTER!
Description: Cloyster is extremely awesome due to its super high defense stat. It has a base 180 defense. The attack and special attack stats are also moderately high: 95 attack, 85 special attack.
Nature: Jolly Nature
Ev's: 252 attack, 48 special attack, 208 speed
Moveset: Shell Smash, Icicle Spear, Rock Blast, Surf/Ice Shard.
Held Item: King's Rock
Preferred Ability: Skill Link
Explanation: Skill Link is an ability that basically makes every move that can hit two to five times hit five times- all the time. So that mean the move Icicle Spear will have a CRAZY 187 BASE ATTACK POWER (due to STAB). Plus the move Rock Blast will also get a strong 125 base attack power. The move Shell Smash is just epic because of Cloyster's super powerful defense. It can use Shell Smash to raise it's offensive stats up sharply. Surf is a pretty nice move that also can be used for HM uses, and Ice Shard has a base 80 attack power, and a priority move. The reason why I would hold a King's Rock is that every time you use Icicle Spear and Rock Blast, you would have an increased chance for flinching. You would have an huge 47% flinch rate.
(Note: this is the most used set for Cloyster, but it is still great.)
